Description

The Benedictine monastery is one of the most important Baroque monuments in the Hradec Králové region and a dominant landmark of Broumov. The monastery’s history dates back to the early 13th century. Its greatest prosperity came after 1620 during the Catholic Reformation, when it was rebuilt in the Baroque style. The current High Baroque appearance of the Broumov monastery is the work of K. I. Dientzenhofer.
